The scholarship is sponsored by the Indian Council of Historical Research Fellowship. The sponsorship is provided for 2 years that can be extended for one more year in case of exceptions. 

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant should be from reputed colleges/universities that have well-known historians. 
• In some exceptional cases, the scholarship can be awarded to candidates that are not associated with any colleges or universities. 
• The candidates that hold experience in research work and want to do advance his/her career with the scholarship. 

How to Apply for “The National Research Fellowships”:

• The application will have to be submitted via offline mode.
• The application form along with the notification should be submitted to the Indian Council of Historical Research 35, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi within the specified date. 
• The application should be submitted by the college or university where the candidate is employed. 
• The application should carry some documents i.e. 5 copies of comprehensive notes on the plan of research.
